Campaign Trail Update

As most of you know, life on
the campaign trail is very
busy but Tila is getting to
meet a lot of people around

the 151st District. Each and

every person has a unique
story to share and everyone
has been great to share with
Tila the things that are most
important to them to see from
a representative. Some of the
stories are being shared with
Tila are those of people
working hard and having a
difficult time these days. We
all know how hard it is
financially for families and
businesses. Tila wants to
work hard to make sure that
everyone has a chance to be
successful in what they are
doing. This is important to
each of us and to our area.
Tila wants to promote our
area as a good place to live,
work and to raise a family
in. Please continue to share
your stories about your life
and what you want to see
from a state legislator with
Tila, she appreciates hearing
from you! If you have a
story or comment that you
want to share, please e-mail,
call or write to Tila! She will
listen!

One person shared with Tila their struggle of being
a person with limited income and declining health,
“…I have worked all my life and it is frustrating to be
told that I don’t qualify for any type of assistance
because I have worked all my life…it seems to me
that it is wrong to punish me for having worked to
take care of myself, I don’t want to be dependent
on the government…”

Tila  has attended several City Council Meetings throughout the district making sure to attend both Stoddard and Scott County Republican Club meetings whenever possible.
Tila was a part of the Friends of the NRA Banquet that was

held on May 1st and attended
the National Day of Prayer.   Tila was able to have a booth at the Puxico Car Show and
the 100 Mile Yard Sale. At the booths, Tila was able to meet and speak with many that live

in the 151st about the issues
that are facing us today. Tila’s
oldest daughter, Shelby, graduated high school this month, this was an event that was both enjoyable and
something that Tila wasn’t
quite yet ready for! The door to door campaign is off and going as well, please pray that
everyone stays well hydrated.
If you haven’t had Tila or one
of the team members knock on your door already, you will see them soon! The goal
for the door to door campaign is to knock on as many doors

as possible in the 151st District.

Tila wants everyone to know that your voice and your vote matter.

Stoddard County Lincoln Day

I had the opportunity to speak to everyone at Stoddard County Lincoln Day.  The event was attended by 121 people and was enjoyed by all! The Elks Club did a great job with the food! I am looking forward to meeting with and talking with more people of the 151st District!

I have pasted my speech below:

I was approached last year about running for the 151st House Seat and after much thought, prayer, and discussion with my family and close friends I made the decision to seek this seat.  I stand before you today seeking the privilege of serving you in Jefferson City.  In February, I was nominated by our 151st Republican Legislative Committee to be your candidate for the State Representative position in the Special Election and I am running for this position in the primary election, both of which will be held on August 5th.

To explain why you should vote for me let me begin by telling you what sets me apart.  I am the conservative candidate, committed to fighting for our Missouri values and principles in Jefferson City.  I have the life experiences and maturity that will enable me to unwaveringly serve you.  I have the tenacity to fight for what we believe in and value.  During the next few months, I will give you my all to earn your trust and to ensure you that I am the right person for the job.

Being a life-long resident of Southeast Missouri has taught me that we are a diverse area with an incredibly talented group of people.  We have industrial and agricultural businesses both large and small.  We are fortunate to have great schools and great health care facilities right here at home.

However, we must have a voice in Jefferson City that will work to support, promote, and protect our valuable assets and I pledge to do just that.

Through my own experience of being a parent of two daughters and having been a single parent for a number of years, I understand first-hand the struggles associated with raising children.  We want and work hard to give our children and grandchildren the best in life.  We want our kids to have opportunities right here at home so that when they graduate they can stay here and not move to some far off place.

Working to support our local businesses and promoting increased job opportunities and reducing over burdensome regulations will be a priority for me as your State Representative.

Having grown up on a farm, I know that our farmers have a product that they need to get to market.  In order to be more competitive, we need better roads for trucks to travel over and the locks and dams on the Mississippi River must be repaired.  As your state representative, I will work hard to fight for improved and expanded export capabilities.

With my experience of teaching in our schools for 8 years, I know that teachers want the very best education for their students and our local educators work very hard to provide this.  But with so much bureaucracy and interference from outside sources, this task has become harder and harder.  As your State Representative, I will defend local control of our schools and support the hard work being done by our teachers.

I a member of the NRA, I understand the importance of our second amendment and as your state representative; I will not back down from defending our gun rights.

In the Southeast Missouri, we value life.  All children deserve the right to life and everyone innocent life is valuable.  I will not waver in protecting our prolife view.

In Jefferson City, I will work to ensure that our tax dollars are used wisely.

I will work to protect our senior citizens from fraud and will fight to ensure that they receive the care that they so richly deserve.

Having worked as a nurse the past 10 years, I understand how important healthcare is to all of us.  I will work to find ways to ensure that the physician and patient decide what treatment option is best.

As the wife of a retired army soldier and having lived through his deployment to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, I understand the issues facing our active duty and retired military families.  As your State Representative, I will stand strong for our military and will support our soldiers, veterans and their families.

Southeast Missouri has the potential to be the leader in Missouri issues; as your state representative, I will work to see that we fulfill this potential and I will work to see that we are a leader in Missouri that sets the tone for statewide issues.

I guarantee you that as your state representative, I will work without ceasing to be your Principled, Committed and Conservative voice in Jefferson City.  If you chose me as your State Representative, you can rest assured that I will give my all to representing all the people of 151st District.

TILA MAKES CAMPAIGN OFFICIAL

Tila Rowland-Hubrecht files for
State Representative in 151st District

JEFFERSON CITY- With an agenda of cutting taxes and reducing spending, Tila (Rowland) Hubrecht officially filed papers with the Secretary of State’s Office today announcing she will be a candidate for State Representative. Her trip to Jefferson City was unique because she has already been nominated by the 151st legislative committee to run as the Republican nominee in the special election, but she also filed to run as a republican in the regular 2014 election.

Because of the special election voters will have the chance to vote for Tila twice in August, once in the regular primary and once in the special election.  The last time this happed was when JoAnn Emerson ran in the special to replace her husband; Congressman Bill Emerson and voters had the opportunity to vote for JoAnn twice that day.

After the resignation of Representative Fowler, Tila was approached by several community leaders urging her to run for representative. Since that time she has been actively meeting with residents and today was the first day for candidates to file.  Tila said, “I have met with hundreds of voters around the district and my message of cutting taxes, reducing regulations, protecting life and defending the Second Amendment have been well received.  I was humbled to have so many supporters attend my kickoff rally and wish me well before I headed to Jefferson City Monday night.

Tila is a Stoddard County native and has been involved in the Republican Party her whole life. She graduated from Richland High School and went to college at Southeast Missouri State University.  After college, Tila spent eight years as a teacher in our public schools with six of those in the Bloomfield School District. After teaching Tila moved into the healthcare field which helped her gain a better understanding of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Bob Thrower who ran for representative in 2012 said, “Having someone like Tila who has been a teacher and nurse, who raised her family here in Stoddard County, is a perfect background to represent our community.  She shares our conservative values and I know Tila will work to help our local farmers and businesses, while voting to protect life and defend the Second Amendment.”

She first became interested in politics while working as a volunteer on Congressman Bill Emerson’s campaigns in the nineties.  When asked why she decided to run for State Representative Tila commented, “I am very concerned about the direction of our state.  I want to help find waste in some of the big government programs and make them more efficient.  I believe my background in education as well as healthcare will allow me to implement reforms that will return local control of our schools and give patients more choices

Tila has raised just over $10,000 since beginning her campaign which shows strong support so early in this race. “It’s going to take close to 68,000 to run a winning campaign but I am extremely thankful to all those who have already contributed.  As we tell folks about the issues we are fighting for they are very willing to not only donate their money, but their time and talent as well,” Tila remarked.

Barb Myers, a local resident added, “Tila is a committed conservative who shares our values.  We need principled leaders who will go to Jefferson City and stand up for what we believe and I know Tila will be fighting for us from day one.”

Her family currently attends Sweet Prospect Baptist Church and before that were members of Frist Baptist in Dexter, Missouri. Tila has also been an active member in the Civil Air Patrol unit based in Malden. She is married to Bryan Hubrecht, a retired veteran of the Army who served in Afghanistan and together they are raising two daughters who attend Dexter high school.  She concluded by saying, “I am thankful to have the support of my family in this effort and I look forward to visiting with all the voters in the 151st district as we work together to make southeast Missouri a better place to live, work and raise our families.”
